Academic entry requirements: 

• Conditional Offer: Require Class X Board results and Class XII predicted grades.

• Unconditional Offer: Class XII Board Results.

English requirements:

• IELTS Academic: A minimum score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.

• TOEFL iBT: A minimum score of 90, with no band less than 21.

• Duolingo English Test: A minimum score of 120, with no sub-score below 100.

POSTGRADUATE DEGREE

Academic entry requirements: 

• Four year baccalaureate degree, or its academic equivalent. Institutions that only offer three year baccalaureate degrees are considered an academic equivalent.

• An admission grade point average of 3.0 on most 4.0 grading systems or B on most letter grading systems, based on your most recent two years of full-time study (or equivalent).

English requirements:

• IELTS Academic: A minimum score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.

• TOEFL iBT: A minimum score of 90, with no band less than 21.

• President’s International Distinction Scholarship

Each year 25 students with a superior admission average and demonstrated leadership qualities entering their first year of an undergraduate degree on a student visa permit receive up to CAN $120,000 (payable over 4 years).

• International Leader Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes and rewards well-rounded applicants with superior academics based on their leadership roles and accomplishments in their school, community organizations, extracurricular activities or even in their workplace. Recipients may receive up to CAN $15,000.

• International Admission Scholarship

Top students could receive up to CAN $5,000 based on admission average.

• Regional Excellence Scholarship

Top students from Vietnam could receive up to CAN $5,000 based on admission average.

As a student new to Canada, I worried I would be perceived as the reserved, mysterious kid — always studying because I was never able to make friends. But I quickly realized just how misplaced this fear was. During my time at the U of A I have found such amazing people in such a short span of time through the clubs I joined and events I attended. Remember, it’s everyone’s first time navigating university, so don’t feel afraid. People are kinder and more open than you would expect. I love spending time on the 13th floor of DICE; the views remind me I now live in a completely different country where I am achieving the goals I set for myself with lifelong friends by my side.
